I have over 20 years work and management experience in corporate/partnership, hospital, private practice, and academic work settings. Along with my experience, an empathic and caring presence, and my graduate and post-graduate training I am poised to offer powerful and meaningful healing for the clients I see. Harriet Achtentuch has over eleven years of experience working with adults suffering from depression and anxiety, adolescent girls and couples’ counseling. She is an Advanced Certified Schema Therapist/Supervisor. “I provide a warm, nurturing and non-judgmental environment, in which clients can freely express themselves and resolve deep-seated issues. I began studying schema therapy 2 years ago when working with people suffering from deep rooted emotional conditions and wanting to find a therapy that would help promote healing for their pain. I am current pending certification as a schema therapist. I enjoy treating anxiety, depression, and substance related challenges. I have 10 years of experience treating addiction to drugs with a focus on opiates. I provide a compassionate and comfortable environment and use a variety of therapy techniques to educate and build on your skills and strengths. I understand the courage it takes to make this first step in seeking help and hope to promote a beneficial and life changing event.
George works with adults in Midcoast Maine and is presently a candidate for Certification in Schema Therapy. He uses a variety of clinical approaches in assisting persons having issue with troubled patterns of experience and behaviors in personal or work relationships or self actualization/self efficacy. He received his MA in Counseling Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2000.
