Paul DelGrosso
Paul is a clinical social worker with extensive experience providing psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, families and groups. Paul was drawn to Schema Therapy after specializing for several years in PTSD and other forms of trauma. Paul discovered in his work that a significant proportion of clients did not respond fully to traditional therapies for trauma. He noticed that many of these clients experienced insecure attachments to caregivers during childhood, leading to the development of problematic schemas and self-defeating life patterns, which exacerbated subsequent trauma reactions. These observations led Paul to Schema Therapy as an effective way to identify and resolve unmet childhood needs—and more effectively resolve trauma and other hard-to-treat conditions. Paul completed advanced certification training in Schema Therapy at the NJ Institute for Schema Therapy and is an Advanced Certified Schema Therapist. Paul is also trained in Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Bowen Family Systems Therapy.
