About Laurie Nisco
Laurie Nisco, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist in private practice with over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist. She was trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy at Columbia University where she subsequently taught in the Clinical Psychology program. She developed skills in cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and schema therapy to offer a range of tools and strategies for change. She is working on her Advanced Certification in schema therapy.
Laurie provides schema therapy to individuals and couples, designing interventions that are tailored to the unique needs and goals of each client. She empowers people to move beyond limitations and impasses by identifying life patterns that aren’t working for them, and providing tools, healing experiences, and support. Among her areas of expertise are problems such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, grief and loss, relationship issues, and trauma. She has experience working with addictions and eating disorders. Laurie works collaboratively and compassionately with individuals and couples, guiding them as they cultivate self-awareness, develop new skills, and bring about the changes and personal growth they are seeking to revitalize their life.
